I am not normally a blue cheese fan, I purchased a bunch of cheeses from this company for a family cheese plate - since we are lactose intolerant I wanted to give them a try. I have to say, I enjoyed this blue cheese which is a first. The "blue cheese" flavouring is 100% there, it's just not as pungent as other dairy cheeses. Forget other vegan cheeses, most vegan ones I have tried use seaweed to make it "blue". I will be buying again! Also, I found out you can age it longer if you like a stronger, drier, more pungent flavour of blue - my mom likes to take out of the packaging, put in tin foil and age longer. Closest thing to the real thing!
We opened True Blue for Sunday brunch, our "indulgence meal" of the week, and signed with pleasure with each taste of this glorious cheese on a toasted bagel or farmer's dark sourdough rye bread! Wow! The texture, the blue-veined tang, the satisfaction of tastebuds and palate -- it's all in there. You will want to put this marvelous cheese on and into lots of stuff!!! We love it!
