I am Pescaterian who enjoys eating/making vegan food occasionally, which I think is important to say up front because I still eat plenty of dairy. I have found that many vegans haven't had the "real thing" in so long that they really can't make a fair comparison to the product it's trying to imitate. That being said, I enjoyed this cheesecake. The texture was much better than any other vegan "dairy" dessert I've had, which are usually very pasty and lacking density. This was a nice, firm texture. The flavor is not quite spot-on... It has a different kind of sourness to it. The strawberry flavor is faint, but present. I ate it plain, but it would definitely improve if it was dressed up with real strawberries and vegan cream. I wouldn't hesitate to serve this to vegans at all, but don't expect non vegans to say they couldn't taste the difference.
I tried the New York style Cheezecake first and it was delicious. This one, though, is by far my favorite. I missed cheesecake with strawberries and this is even better than any other cheesecake I had before I was vegan! It is creamy but thick and firm and flavored perfectly (in my opinion). You can taste real strawberries not an artificial strawberry flavor. I added a few frozen strawberries on top that were still thawing and it was perfection. I highly recommend this. Definitely worth the price! My favorite dessert!
