I had a slice on it’s own to taste-test. The texture is spot-on for replicating dairy, but the flavor is pretty lackluster...it’s not bad, just very bland and “neutral”...I was hoping for that cheddar sharpness and “tang”, but it just wasn’t there. ☹️
I highly recommend this wonderful vegan cheddar cheese! I have tried numerous brands of vegan cheddar over the years and have been very disappointed until now. Good Planet cheddar cheese works great on grilled cheese sandwiches, inside burritos, on top of veggie burgers and meted over JUST EGG vegan egg scramble. The cheese melts nicely and is very creamy & delicious. In my opinion it’s even better than traditional dairy based cheddar cheese. My family and I love this vegan cheddar cheese and stock it regularly in the refrigerator. I have shared this vegan cheese with my non vegan friends, colleagues and extended family and they all loved it! Good Planet’s other vegan cheeses are equally delicious as well. If you loved cheese before you were vegan then you will love Good Planet’s wonderful cheese offerings!
I've tried so many vegan cheeses, some better than others, but this Good Planet Cheddar by far has the best cheese taste. I melted it in a grilled cheese sandwich, and it tastes as good as "real" cheese! So delicious! Today I did a side by side comparison grilled cheese test with Good Planet Cheddar and the highly reviewed Chao vegan cheese I bought to compare (original flavor). Good Planet Cheddar won the flavor contest hands down! So very excited about this product, highly recommend!
