I pan fried it and topped it with a sprinkling of brown sugar and black pepper - delicious!!!
We put this in an air fryer before crumbling it up as a salad topping. It was amazingly crispy and did very well. Even my food snob of a father (who is awesome and will try anything but has never been fond of my substitutes) said he couldn't tell the difference. It does fall apart pretty easily. I used Jennifer's suggestion with the knives and had no trouble peeling it into the fryer.
This bakon is absolutely delicious, and the aroma while you cook it makes you crave it so much. It mimics a softer bacon slice (more like pork belly in texture) as opposed to a crispy slice. To keep it in one piece, I lay the block on a flat surface (lay it so the slice lines are on top) and slowly separate the slices from the top with a thin knife with one hand. One at a time, as the slice begins to fall, I use a long bread knife in my other hand to catch the falling slice and then plop it on a skillet to cook a few minutes per side until browned. It’s so savory and satisfying.
This is the best I have tried, flavor and texture are great, crispy and not hard or chewy. Careful getting it out of the package, very delicate. I asked that they carry this product and here it is.
