I love the texture. It's got that slightly dry, flakey deliciousness that ultra thin roast turkey has. Less like Oscar Meyer slices, more like cut fresh. Sorry if that description's a little gross. I haven't eaten an animal in 30+ years, but this is a lot like what I remember. Yummy taste, nobody gets hurt. :)
I'm a big fan of the Tofurky smoked slices, as is my dog. But, this is an unsmoked version of that with tons of flavor. I made my sandwiches with smoked provolone, and Russian dressing, because this can handle the horseradish. Pretty sure that Unreal Deli meat and horseradish are my finds for 2021.
was curious to try this (saw it on shark tank and love any publicity for vegan products and businesses) and it was tasty. I thought it was a little dry but overall tasty. I haven't had actual turkey flesh in many, many years, but the texture seemed similar I guess to roast turkey sliced up like after thanksgiving. It didn't seem close in texture to deli slices to me, which are more moist. Overall, I like the latter better (like tofurky, which is also cheaper and more readily available) but this wasn't bad and I'd eat it again if tofurky was sold out or I wanted to make a recipe where I wanted something with that texture as opposed to deli slices.
They disappeared quickly in tasty Turk'y Club Sandwiches! Highly recommend and will buy again. Looks and tastes the most like Turk'y of any slices we've tried so far and we've tried a bunch of brands.
