If you're middle aged like me, you may remember a product from the 1980s called Steak-umms, these thin sliced pieces of steak that you could cook and use in a variety of ways. Well, now there's a vegan version! I've tried the recipe on the Unreal Deli website for the "French Dip" sandwich and loved it, but usually, I'll just fry it up in a bit of oil and serve on a roll with lettuce, tomato, onion, and some A-1 sauce. It really is my favorite sandwich slice.
Hey Danielle, this makes us very happy that you found a similar alternative, which remembers you of your past memories! :) Your recipe sounds great! Thanks for share! Best regards, Christina
Like the texture and taste. Not chewy gummy like a lot of slices. Will buy again.
I MADE THE BEST VEGAN STYLE RUBEN SANDWICHES WITH THI DELI-SLICED STEAK MEAT. YOU NEED TO TRY IT FOR YOURSELF. I EVEN USED IT IN MY MOCKED (VEGAN) BEEF STEW. WOW IT WAS GREAT. I WONDER WHAT OTHER WAYS YOU CAN EAT THIS GREAT STEAK MEAT. WOW WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT WE CAN EAT SOME STEAKLESS STEAK (LOL LOL)
WOW THESE ARE GREAT FOR SOUPS WHEN YOU ARE A VEGAN BECAUSE IT LOOKS LIKE REAL BEEF. YOU CAN HAVE A BEEFLESS SOUP AND KNOW AS AN ACTUAL FACT THAT YOU ARE GOING TO BE HEALTHY. YOU WILL BE SAVING A POOR ANIMAL'S LIFE. YOU WILL BE LEAVING A GOOD HEALTHY CARBON FOOTPRINT IN THIS LIFE TIME.
